Am I the only Liberal who never bought into the Global Warming scare?

There is not enough evidence that anthropogenic global warming is a significant factor contributing to worldwide climate change.





This is just like the alleged ';Global Cooling'; of the 70s.





That was used to stop investment in new factories in countries like India and Brazil. The current one is a political tool to limit the availability of technology and medicine to less developed countries.Am I the only Liberal who never bought into the Global Warming scare?
Not exactly. I think there are many good reasons (like breathing!) to be environmentally conscious. I also believe scientists have reasons to be concerned, as their observations of a hole in the ozone layer and rising levels of CO2 are accurate. The results of these disturbing revelations are, in my view, hard to determine. I believe scientists' best knowledge and theories give an unbiased prediction of global warming, and needs to be taken seriously. However, we have to remember that scientists can't predict earthquakes, clear air turbulence, the exact trajectory of hurricanes, etc. The dynamics of the earth are complex, and it is clear we have not mastered them.





That said, we should be concerned. Most likey, human activity is having an undesired effect on the environment (air and water could certainly stand to be cleaner). We should do as much as possible to reverse our pollution. But we ALSO have to consider the economic effects. We cannot all become Amish or trash the world economy to cure this. But no one is suggesting that either.Am I the only Liberal who never bought into the Global Warming scare?

I just read that Al Gore, known for his documentary An Inconvenient Truth, has just admitted that the emission of CO2 is not responsible for global warming and has canceled his conference at the Copenhagen Summit. This is due to fraud of the IPCC on global warming.





Global warming does not exist. It was all a fraud and the scandal has been called CLIMATEGATE.
