Didn't they learn their lesson last time? Why did the Democrats pick the most liberal senator in the congress again?
Uh he's not the most liberal senator in congress. Kucinich beats him along with like 20 or so. There's also like a one point difference between Obama and Hillary Clinton. So stop buying into the propaganda that the media is trying to sell you.Why did the Democrats pick the most liberal senator in the congress again?
no, they learned exactly NOTHING from the last 2 elections...in 2000, they could have campaigned on clinton's coattails and won; instead, they ran away from his high poll numbers at the direction of donna brazile, the most incompetent campaign manager of all time. in 2004, they picked the second biggest goofball they could find (after howard scream), figuring that it didn't matter whether they won, as long as they appeased the teddy kennedy wing of the party. now they are nominating the most liberal candidate they could find, who is a 'character and judgment' disaster, and who has managed to alienate the blue collar voters-the largest voting bloc in the electorate, along with middle aged women. they are counting on the AA vote and the left wing 'arugula liberals' to carry the day for them...and when it all falls apart, they'll blame hillary
Because they hate America and want to turn it into a socialist nation....and they have not figured out that Americans will not stand for it.
McCain will win in 08.
Jeff...you are partially right. There is almost no difference between Obama and Hillary...Hillary has been labeled in the top 3 most liberal since she was elected to Congress. And it is the liberal watchdogs labeling him the most liberal in Congress, according to his voting record...when he takes the time to vote.
smartnsa...you are WAY OFF BASE. There is nothing idealistic about the democratic party anymore. There used to be. Now, it is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT PARTISAN POLITICS. However, they are dumb enough to think that socialism is a good thing and that they can win on the ';I am not George W. Bush platform...which did not work so well for Kerry.
Because Democrats are very idealistic. They play to do the right thing and not to win.
Look at the nomination/primary process. It is not aligned with the general election process. Prorated delegates, the more ';democratic process';, creates a longer, more expensive nomination process and delivers candidates that cannot win in the winner take all general election.
The party tends to nominate candidates that are too liberal to win in the GE. McGovern, Dukakas, Mondale, Kerry. The only elections won over the last 40 years have been gifts - Nixon gave us a Carter White House, and Ross Perot the first Clinton win. Since the 70's the only real win the Dems have had is Clinton's reelection.
So why is Clinton denounced? My theory is the Democrats are principle oriented and love idealistic thinkers who are not willing to compromise. It is the Republicans who are more pragmatic and goal oriented. Clinton is a Democrat in policy, but Republican like in his objectives. He worked for progress and results, and did not stubbornly hold out for the ';perfect ideal'; solution - a position that tends to result in zero progress. An example of this was his implementation of ';Don't ask. Don't tell.'; This was a comprise solution, and represented a progressive step to an open military. Being gay would still be considered a discharge-violation of the COC if not for Clinton, but the Dems felt that he sold out.
Apparently not. I think they should change the name of the party to Liberal Party instead of the Democratic party. They clearly are not democratic as was shown by the party rules. As long as this is their agenda, I'm an independent after 40 years of being a registered a democrat.
I don't think so. You would think, judging by demgraphics, that America is a Christian conservative society. Instead of embracing this, they attempt to undermine it and lose time and time again.
McCain will win by about 20% in the general. Mark it down!
If you are talking about obama!! its because of his muslim ties, they want our country!! look back in history, you will see, its been going on for many years!! they want us to be apart of a one world govt.!!! please do not let this happen, vote wisely!!
They thought any Dem could win against any Rep. They found a good speaker who no one would question without being label a racist, one that would be easier to control than Hillary. They were afraid of the Clinton Machine.
No they didn't and as USUAL the liberals will LOSE!
Most of the country is conservative! That's why Bush was re-elected!
They have been hijacked by a far-left socialist movement!
The American Democratic party as you knew it ... no longer exists!
I have no idea! As an independent i would gladly vote for a democrat if they werent so left wing. Bill Clinton is a good example he was a pro buisness democrat he did pretty good in the white house. McCain 08!!
No, the broken party limps on making the same mistakes.

Ah, so many wise and insightful answers. 10 points for all of the above!
Because I'm guessing that Paris Hilton and Britney Spears are running the show in the DNC behind the scenes.
John Kerry was surely a failed candidate and I think this one is worse!
This will be a cake-walk for McCain!
A bad habit is hard to break!
