Why do liberals want to be called progressive instead of liberal?

I mean I don't see conservatives being affraid of being called ';conservative'; so why don't liberals want to be called ';liberal?';Why do liberals want to be called progressive instead of liberal?
Just the word progressive gives the illusion that things are happening,when liberal makes one think things are not happening.*Why do liberals want to be called progressive instead of liberal?
Because it is more accurate. Liberals don't actually care about individual liberty (unless it is sex related).





They are more interested in ';progress'; towards their vision of a totalitarian pain-free work-free consequence-free dogma-free federally regulated utopia.





Keep in mind that ';progressive'; doesn't necessarily mean that they want to advance western civilization. They will cut back on technology, our standard of living, and the lives of millions of old people and children if it means bringing us closer to their vision of a nature-loving, Earth-based utopia.
