Given Obama's liberal and very partisan voting record as a senator, why would he be any different as President?

Do we really need more partisan politics in the White House?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, he authored some bills with republicans, but they were safe bills that would not get him in trouble with his own party.Given Obama's liberal and very partisan voting record as a senator, why would he be any different as President?
He wouldn't. Actions speak louder than words and in Illinois he did nothing to bring on change, reform or fulfill any of his campaign promises.Given Obama's liberal and very partisan voting record as a senator, why would he be any different as President?
Really 97% now is it? Hmm... I am starting to think that that 90% is now a number that is being made up... and I really wonder how many senators/representatives vote with a president for the majority of the time seeings as many bills (much like the ';bailout'; bill) have hundreds of pork spending to lure congressmen to vote for it...

and No it is not in anyones best interest to have a singular party in power.... It would only represent a portion of the population and not the majority...
He wouldn't.

People need to do their research on McCain and stop believing Obama's attack ads. McCain has voted with his party as low as 66%. They put together just a few votes from this year to get the 90%. Obama votes with his almost 100% of the time.
And since McCain voted with Bush 97% of the time, I guess we could ask the same thing about him. At any rate, I agree with Obama and find myself cringing when I listen to McCain--laughing when I listen to Palin. I know I DON'T want that ticket running this country.
That's why it'll be awesome. Democratic President, Democratic Congress. Time to totally undo everything the Republicans have done. I guess you better start looking for a place to live in the Idaho mountains
I second what Maggie said. He did nothing to improve Illinois. High unemployment, Veterans at the bottom when it comes to VA compensation, Corporations gone because of our trying to pay for health care for individuals on the backs of the corporations.
exactly...he talks about change and working together...but has no real record of it...its easy to work with like minded people and reach across the isle with like minded views...thats not bringing people together...and reaching out to people with different views...
He won't be any different. In fact if he does win he'll end up being a lame duck president. This man will change nothing about politics in DC because he is a shining example of those very politics.
He wouldn't. At least John McCain has a record of reaching across the aisle that would translate over to the Presidency.
