Liberal atheists, does it bother you that most liberals are Christians?

I ask b/c if Christians take theism on faith/wishful thinking, maybe they're also taking liberal values on faith. That makes me wonder, are we liberals taking things on faith/wishful thinking as well and not actually thinking very hard about them?Liberal atheists, does it bother you that most liberals are Christians?
Finding a liberal Christian is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack, anyone that uses the Law (secular or religious) to proselytize is no liberal and anyone that says ';love your enemies'; is no conservative.Liberal atheists, does it bother you that most liberals are Christians?
Actually, Christ was a liberal, Christians are not. Christians go against everything Christ taught, if you look at your average chest-thumping, god-fearing, red-blooded 'Merican. They're intolerant, bigoted, against social programs and charity (unless there's something in it for them), and you can forget free will because they insist on imposing their will on others. I don't think there's any such thing as a liberal Christian, much less ';most.'; That's ridiculous.

They shouldn't even be called Christians.
Whether somebody agrees with you for the wrong reasons, or for no reasons, says nothing about the validity of your own nominal views. I for one have HAD to think about my views and come to them honestly, since my parents are conservative.

Purely social issues are a no brainer. But economic issues are complex and non-fundamental and deeply intertwined with social concerns, so here my views are pragmatic, not based in ideology, as those of many on all sides surely are. The difference is ultimately one of values, not ideas. Liberals value human individuals and real actual love and whatnot, while conservatives have their ';family values'; (sic).
First of all, you have no data to back up your assertions; and, even if we grant that ';most'; liberals are Christian, what does it matter? Christianity, or any religion for that matter, is beside the point.

Further, your premise that Christians take liberals ';on faith'; is inane and lacks support. What does that even mean?
It does not matter to me really...worshippers of a baby killing god (egypt's first born) are worshippers of a baby killing god...does not matter if they are liberal or conservative.

I hold liberal values...not based on wishful thinking but based on my evolutionary understanding of RIGHT AND WRONG. I KNOW what is right and I KNOW what is wrong...don't need no baby killer to tell me the difference...and don't need no worshippers of a baby killer to tell me either.

Killing babies...is WRONG!!! There is no grey area on this, there is no exceptions...killing babies is WRONG.

But there they are....millions of people who worship and love a baby killing god...not only do they worship the baby killer, they defend, they excuse and they justify babies murdered by their baby killing god.

Not only is that wrong...it is quite evil as well.
Modern liberals are all about naive ideology. Is that news to you?

Another answerer said ';Religions have dogma, doctrine, fundamental teachings, worship...';

This perfectly desribes the party system in the US. There is no difference between politics and religion. It's all bullsh*t engaged in by knobs.
Who cares? Liberals/Democrats are poor and stupid. They are also really self righteous but mostly poor. Smart people are conservative republicans. Liberal christans and atheists are equally stupid and are nothing more than bugs to me.
Politics and philosophy/theology/religiosity are separate things. Religions have dogma, doctrine, fundamental teachings, worship...

Politics are just a person's opinion, essentially.
Since 'liberal' is a political perspective, and atheism or christianity are religious perspectives, then it doesn't bother atheists that others share the same political perspectives as themselves.
Considering that something like 80% of Americans claim to be christian, it's no surprise that they make up the majority in most groups.
Of all Christians, do you think there are more liberals or conservatives?

The ratio of Christians to atheists in the U.S. will almost guarantee a Christian majority in every group.
Religious and political affiliations only ';bother'; me when they get muddled together.
So what i am not a liberal and i am a atheist
well russia had alot of atheist presidents, look at russia now, almost dead. the first christian president (vladimir putin) tries to save it now.

PS: bush was atheist.
No, but it bothers me that people ask stupid questions like this.
