Is the Episcopal Church the most liberal Christian Church?

It allows gay bishops and priests, women as bishops and priests, and even condones gay marriage. Do you think it's too liberal socially?Is the Episcopal Church the most liberal Christian Church?
It looks like it is the most liberal. Who knows of a more open minded organization?Is the Episcopal Church the most liberal Christian Church?
Probably not dear. I know that the Unitarians and several other churches are much more ';liberal.';

But what's wrong with liberal?

Without ';liberal'; you would not be living in a democratic republic, and I would not have the right to vote

And I just remembered when the first ';colored'; family was finally allowed into my own church back when I was a girl. My parents also thought that this was ';way too liberal.';
Why do you seem to think ';liberal'; is a pejorative term?

Christ was one of the most ';liberal'; teachers of all time.

It was liberals who championed abolition of slavery, women's rights, civil rights, and democracy.

The Episcopal Church ';allows gay bishops and priests, women as bishops and priests, and even condone gay marriage'; because they have come to an understanding these things too are the right things to do.

And the Unitarians are probably the more ';liberal'; although historically some would argue for the Society of Friends.

ADD:

And to comment on something else you have stated: ';we have an innate knowing of right and wrong that transcends society.';

WRONG.

We DO possibly have some concept of ';doing'; right and ';not doing' wrong. BUT I insist that specific concepts of exactly what constitutes 'right and wrong' are largelt a matter of our socialization and what we are taught.

The Christian Church until the Middle Ages INSISTED that lending money at interest was IMMORAL. As late as the 1700s most Christians reasoned that slavery was natural and JUST. In fact, the abolitionists were at that time considered ';TOO LIBERAL';.

Thomas Aquinas, the ';father'; of Natural Law methodology in 5 volumes commenting on a ';list of sins'; never once mentioned slavery or owning slaves. He also determined that rape was LESS a sin than masturbation.

In 1866, the Catholic Church opined: ';Slavery is . . .not al all contrary to the divine law or the natural law.';

What YOU (and the rest of us) usually consider an ';innate knowledge of right and wrong'; is NOT innate at all but LEARNED.
